  • Alabama Adventure
In March of 2006, Southland Entertainment announced the name for Alabama's water and theme park would be changed to Alabama Adventure - "The New Name for Fun!"
The 200-acre park, built in 2003, needed a name change after Southland Entertainment invested over $20 million in park expansions and improvements. With the new and exciting changes - including added rides and attractions - renaming the park was inevitable.
"Alabama Adventure is no longer just a regional theme park, but also now an entertainment destination," said Ken Lemasters, President of Southland Entertainment. "Alabama Adventure will give families an unforgettable experience full of thrills and excitement."
Alabama Adventure is projected to expand according to the master plan created by Southland Entertainment in which multi- millions will be invested. In addition to new rides in the existing theme park and water park, the plan calls for the addition of new park amenities such as an animal park, a hotel with an indoor water park, a sports complex, RV park, interactive water play area, stock car racing zone and many more exciting attractions.
Not only is Alabama Adventure expanding, they are also adding nationally known recording artists for their 2007 summer season.
"We had anticipated the opening of the park with our park's new name, Alabama Adventure, for many months and we are excited about the future plans," said John Collins, general manager of Alabama Adventure. "This summer has provided many excellent opportunities to showcase what Alabama Adventure offers in terms of thrilling and exciting rides along with entertainment."
Alabama Adventure is located only 16 miles southwest of Birmingham, a mile north of I-459 at exit 110. The park opens weekends beginning April 22 and full time starting Memorial Day Weekend. Season passes are on sale now for the 2007 season. To obtain further information about Alabama Adventure please visit www.alabamaadventure.com or call 205-481-4750.
