MISS HOOVER PAGEANT TO BE HELD JULY 18.

Shown at the conclusion of Miss Hoover 2008 Pageant, Chamber Director Bill Powell, Emcee Miss Alabama 2008 Jamie Langley, Hoover Mayor Tony Petelos, 2008 Miss Hoover Jessica Headley, and 2007Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce President Richard Rayborn of Alabama Power Company.

The second annual Miss Hoover Pageant will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at Spain Park High School. Sponsored by the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce, the event is one of the earliest local preliminaries for the Miss Alabama Pageant and is open to qualified young women in our state between the ages of 17 and 24.

Following a year of appearances representing her hometown, Jessica Headley, the reigning Miss Hoover, will be competing this summer for the title of Miss Alabama. Tim Gann, who has extensive experience with the Miss America Organization and directed last yearís pageant debut, will once again serve as Pageant Director.

The Miss Hoover Pageant awards $10,000.00 in scholarships, along with thousands of dollars worth of prizes, making it one of the most prestigious and desirable pageants throughout the area. Each year, millions of dollars are awarded through local pageants to contestants who wish to represent their community and further their educational and personal development. Funding for scholarships relies solely on individual and corporate sponsorships which contribute to the success of the event.
